Better Caravan Security

Although owning a touring caravan can be a great experience, there is always a worry that someone is going to try and take away your pride and joy.  Caravan theft has always been a problem and that is why you should take every precaution you can to protect your investment.  Caravan security and caravan insurance should always be near the top of your agenda

Luckily, there are plenty of devices out there that are intended to provide extra security and to prevent your caravan from being stolen or broken into.  Wheel clamps or hitch locks are a must, and should always be installed whenever your caravan is unoccupied or unhitched from the car.  In fact many caravan insurance providers insist on this as a minimum level of security

For additional peace of mind however, you might also want to consider fitting a good quality alarm system or a satellite tracking device.  Although these can be expensive, they give you even more protection and in regard to a tracking device they can help you recover your caravan if you are unfortunate enough to have it stolen

Better yet, if you invest in these devices you’ll often be able to make big savings on your caravan insurance premium

You need to consider the storage of your caravan as well.  If you are unable to keep it at home, preferably behind locked gates, then consider a professional storage facility such as one with Cassoa accreditation.  You’ll often find that keeping your caravan within an approved storage facility will generate a further premium saving

As you can see, there are a number of things you can do to ensure your touring caravan security. As long as you fit all the necessary security devices and remember to store your caravan safely you should be able to take away much of the worry and then you can spend more time planning your next caravanning adventure
