New To Caravanning

Whether you are new to caravanning or have been doing it for many years, consider going to one of the excellent Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Shows

Much has changed over the years since your aunt and uncle had a caravan with a bucket for a toilet, a foot pump for cold water if you were lucky and those whistling gas lights whose mantle always broke when you needed it and there was no spare! The very latest technologies in manufacturing combined with elegant style now portray a far more luxurious side to this ever growing pastime and the shows are just the place to see it all under one roof

From young couples to families, to grandparents taking the whole family away on holiday, there will be a caravan to suit everyone. Some manufacturers adapt caravans for people with mobility difficulties and others manufacture especially. This truly is a hobby for everybody

Generally you will find only new caravans at the shows although some outdoor shows do feature used caravans, but it still worth a look as I said, things have changed, a lot. Looking through the vans on show will give you an idea of what is already out there and available elsewhere second-hand at perhaps a more affordable price. You will become enthused with what you discover and hopefully join the many thousands of caravanners already enjoying this wonderful hobby

Of course there are not only caravans at the shows but tents, motorhomes and static caravans too. Boats can also be found at the NEC show in February so make sure you get there early and don’t miss anything! Once you are there you will find just about everything you could possibly need to make your caravanning experience enjoyable and relaxing. From bed linen to crockery and cutlery, motor movers and even satellite dishes. Yes everything you have at home is available for your home away from home albeit smaller, lighter and sometimes even better!

Once you have your caravan and equipment, you will need to know where to go and Cade’s can help you with that. Publishers of Britain’s ‘Best Selling’ Camping, Touring and Motor Caravan Site Guide, Cade’s information on touring parks throughout the UK and Ireland is the most up to date available and in handy A5 format, is easily tucked in the glovebox to keep you informed while you are away. You can purchase your copy of Cade’s at the major shows, through the camping and caravan trade outlets or in case of difficulty at www.cades.co.uk/caravan-guides

Finally, perhaps the least attractive of all your caravanning needs but one of the most important is caravan insurance.  Check out our tips for finding the right caravan insurance for you here
